The wine should steal the show. Not your struggle to open it.

Until your corkscrew decides it wants a starring role.

01Dinner is ready. One job left.
A couple celebrating their anniversary with a special bottle of wine and two empty glasses.

Dinner is ready.

Glasses out. Music on. You're celebrating something special, and the bottle you've been saving is sitting on the table.

You pick it up. Only one tiny job remains.

Opening the wine.

02The drawer of forgotten objects.
A man discovers an old wine opener in a crowded kitchen drawer while his partner looks on.

You open the kitchen drawer and start excavating.

Takeout menus. Dead batteries. Three mystery keys. A birthday candle shaped like a 7.

And there it is: the corkscrew you have owned for so long that nobody remembers buying it.

“That still works… right?”

The hinges are sticky. The foil cutter does not cut so much as negotiate. You saw. You peel. Eventually the bottle is technically foil-free.

03Everybody is a sommelier now.
The man strains to pull out the cork, with the opener’s lever resting on the bottle lip.

You start twisting. The screw goes in at an angle. Every turn produces an audible squeak. Yet the cork doesn't budge.

That is when the room develops expertise.

Four dinner guests call out conflicting advice about opening the wine bottle.

Congratulations. You are no longer opening wine.
You are chairing a committee.

You can feel your face starting to flush as you give it one last heroic pull.

POP.A wine cork snapping into two halves.

Half the cork comes out.

04At this point, dignity is optional.
The man pours wine through a kitchen strainer while his partner gives an awkward smile. A broken cork lies on the table.

The other half crumbles into the bottle.

Someone gets a strainer. Someone else gets a spoon. The wine, once the guest of honor, is now undergoing a procedure.

Twenty minutes ago, this was a bottle of wine. Now it’s a group project.

At least everyone has stopped giving advice.

BEFORE YOU BLAME YOURSELF.

You need a better corkscrew.

No life lesson. No confidence workshop. Just a tool that cuts cleanly, turns with less drag, and lifts the cork without becoming the evening’s main event.

Here’s the HELIX.

Designed for the moment before the first pour.

THE HELIX is LUSCIOUZ’s double-hinged wine opener, created to bring precision and control to each movement of opening a bottle: cut, turn, lift.

Balanced in the hand and quiet in motion, it transforms a familiar gesture into something more considered.

The difference is felt in the details.

01

CUT THE FOILA clean beginning.

The rubberized handle sits securely in the hand, giving you a stable, confident grip from the first movement.

A gently curved, serrated foil cutter follows the contour of the bottle for a clean, controlled cut around the capsule.

02

TURN THE SCREWQuiet precision in every turn.

At the center of the HELIX is a five-coil screw finished with LUSCIOUZ's nonstick Galaxy Coating. It smoothly pierces through the cork so you can concentrate on the motion instead of fighting the resistance.

In fact, it glides through corks so easily that you can turn it with your pinky finger.

See the one-finger turn.
Our Galaxy Coating reduces friction by up to 8 times compared to conventional corkscrews.

Lower friction means less stress on the cork, and greater control in every motion — particularly important when it comes to vintage bottles.

With older bottles, cork condition and technique still deserve careful attention.

Quiet by design.

Reduced friction also helps limit the squeaking associated with uncoated corkscrews, keeping the opening discreet.

03

LIFT THE CORKSeamless extraction, in two stages.

The double-action lever provides two lifting positions, allowing the cork to rise gradually rather than in a single forceful pull.

Two stages for a controlled extraction.

Two steps, two easy pulls — the cork rises straight and comes out whole with a steady, controlled motion.

Especially useful with longer corks, the two-stage design provides leverage while keeping the movement measured.

The result is confident uncorking with minimal effort — ideal for use at home as well as precise service at the table.

What to look for in a wine opener

Ignore the drama. A good wine key should make three movements feel easy and predictable.

Does the foil cutter actually cut?
Look for a sharp, serrated edge and a shape that follows the bottle. The HELIX uses a gently curved serrated cutter for a cleaner pass around the capsule.
Does the screw enter smoothly?
A nonstick coating means less fighting the cork and more control. The Galaxy Coating used on the HELIX reduces friction as the screw turns in.
Does the lever give you leverage?
A secure two-stage lever can make longer corks easier to lift without yanking. The HELIX uses a double-action design for two controlled pulls.

Before you choose your wine opener

Is a wine opener the same as a wine key?

Yes. “Wine key” and “waiter’s corkscrew” are common names for this folding style of wine opener. The HELIX includes a foil cutter, a five-coil screw, and a two-stage lever.

What does the Galaxy Coating do?

It reduces friction as the screw enters the cork. In LUSCIOUZ’s demonstration, the screw can be turned with a single finger.

What if I’m new to a two-stage corkscrew?

Lift with the first step, reposition the lever on its second step, then finish the pull. The extraction video above shows the motion.

Let the wine be the star of the evening.
